Safety Tips for Britax Unity Low Birth Weight Capsule
Important safety reminders when using the Britax Unity capsule with premature or low birth weight babies.
1. Correct Recline Angle
Low birth weight babies need a more reclined position. Always use the built-in level indicator to achieve the correct angle.
2. Harness Must Be Snug
The harness should be firm with no slack. You should not be able to pinch any fabric between your fingers.
3. Always Use the Top Tether
The top tether must be securely attached and tightened, even when using Isofix or seatbelt installation.
4. No Thick Clothing Under Harness
Bulky jackets or clothing can reduce harness effectiveness. Dress baby in thin layers and place blankets over the top.
5. Check Harness Height Regularly
Shoulder straps must be at or just below baby’s shoulders. The Britax Unity has multiple harness positions for growth.
